My trip to Gorkha: A volunteers experience and the current need.

Well, it’s not quite central Gorkha, but a small village in the region. You head out towards Gorkha, then turn off about 10km before the city into a little village called Dhuwakot. This is a forty minute drive down a dirt ‘road’. Once you reach the little place, you then have to drive up a river for a while before you finally reach your destination. That is, the little house of a Church elder borrowed from the neighbouring local school. See the below picture:

The church in this area is a little building on the side of a hill, almost at the top. To get there you have to trek up many tiny little windy paths. This journey is beautiful but we had to stop many times during the huge climb for rest, let alone the women, children and elders. Immediately you see the trouble yes? Apart from the great benefits of wild fruit every ten minutes or so. The trouble is that this place is so hard to reach and the building so small, that most of the families end up sending only one person each week. Even then the small church is packed full.
Last year they (Glorious) were able to raise some money to buy a piece of land in the middle of the valley. On nice flat ground! The new location is perfect, as it serves as the center of three and a half villages. This will open up access to the gospel to a much larger people group and allow for everyone to easily attend meetings.
Now we just need to raise some money to make a building. Being village side, this is excessively cheap. Estimates for everything come to around $4000 USD. Now to me that sounds very reasonable! Please, join us on this great journey, either in prayer or in direct provision.
Thanks,
A Volintaire and brother in Christ.

Now the Church in this area is a little building on the side of a hill, almost at the top. You can see the hills in the background of the above photo (left). Above on the right is the current Church building. To get there you have to trek up a long and narrow windy path. This journey is beautiful and has great benefits like wild fruit every ten minutes or so but it is primarly a difficult walk. We had to stop and rest many times during the huge climb. Now immediately you see the trouble yes? If we as the young ish ones were struggling, you can imagine the trouble of the children and elders. This place is so hard to reach and the building so small, that most of the families end up sending only one person each week and even then the small Church is packed full.

On the left we have a picture of the surrounding hills where the current Church is. On the right, see that tree in the middle, that is the land now owned by Glorious. Excellent huh!

Now we just need to raise some money to make the building. Being village side, this is excessively cheap. Estimates for everything come to around $4000 USD. All the labour will be done by the congregation.

You are invited now to join us on this great journey, either in prayer or in direct provision.

Thanks for all the support,

Glory to God.
